How to Draw Chemical Structures

Open the editor for structure drawing:

Click on the hexagon in the left menue bar and and move the mouse pointer on to the work area.

Then click the right mouse button: “Structure Editor” – “New Structure Frame”

You now will find a blue hexagon on the screen. Move with the mouse over the hexagon® The field to draw formulae will be opened as an additional workspace

Draw a bond:

Set a start point with the left mouse button. You will see a red point. Click on this point again and move the mouse in the direction where you want to draw the bond. The length and the angle of the bond is set automatically as definded in the preferences (see next page “Bonds”)

When you move the mouse over the green rectangle and press the Del – key, the bond is removed.

When you move the mouse over a red point and press the Del – key, this atom position is removed.

Enter the symbol of an element:

Go with the mouse over a red point. You do not need to click! Enter by the keyboard ch3.

You will see, that the elements are automatically written in capitals and the index 3 is set to subscript.

Remove elements:

Go with the mouse over the element (red point) and press the backspace- key.

By clicking on the arrow the structure is inserted into the work area.
